I need to make a better effort to have students working in there at least 3 days a week to really see growth.

Previously, we used it and loved it! I feel that math talks are just as important as reading conferences.

Basic skills have to be mastered in order to continue with the curriculum. We need to model the concepts. MOST OF ALL, we need to engage our students in applying the concepts.

We also give them benchmarks and I focus on certain TEKS that students are lacking.

Math is cumulative. Certain years are benchmark years where all previous skills really need to come together. Students who can pull those strands together and make new math understandings will also do well in other areas.

I know that this is a foundational year from which future years will be build. I love when my students come back to share their math scores in the years after leaving 3rd grade. I appreciate the data AM provides and the practice that I can easily tie in with hands-on learning.
