Your use of a rubric for Accelerated Reader sounds intriguing. Educators using AR best practices monitor students’ independent and instructional reading through a multifaceted lens that focuses on engaged time, reading for comprehension, and finding that balance between literacy and informational text. Student data for these key metrics are available thought traditional text-based reports as well as a visual data interface via a reading dashboard. While this is certainly not a rubric, it does give educators daily access to each student’s growth as an accomplished reader.

Our website features a number of resources you may find helpful, including educator-to-educator AR success stories, and an implementation guide in our Customer Center, Getting Results with Accelerated Reader. You can also access this guide within Renaissance Place. (Click the Accelerated Reader tile and select Resources.)

I encourage you to contact Customer Service at 800-338-4204 or email answers@renaissance.com so we can provide more information for you. Thank you for your commitment to accelerating learning for these students! We look forward to hearing from you.

I have been in touch with Renlearn over the months asking for an example of a rubric for use with AR.
We have 6th, 7th and 8th graders in a “Target” or “Alert” school in Mobile, Al. Do you have some examples I can use with my Language Arts teachers? I do have a Listening Rubric example, but I cannot attach it to this text box. Please advise. Many thanks.
