Spark the growth of Tier II students
IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act) funding is intended (1) to help ensure that students with disabilities receive a Free and Appropriate Public Education and (2) to prevent students from entering special education.
Up to 15% of the funds may be voluntarily set aside for Coordinated Early Intervening Services (CEIS) for students who are not currently identified as needing special education but who need additional academic support in order to succeed in the general education classroom. This set-aside is required for districts with a disproportionate number of minority students in special education.
