We’re excited to announce a few new changes to the myON and myON News programs to support students with a variety of language backgrounds and experiences. Read on for the details.

New Arabic and Mandarin options in myON News

In addition to English, Spanish, and French, myON News articles are now being translated into Arabic and Mandarin as well. A new dropdown menu has been added to the article settings for students to select which language they want to read the article in, as shown below. Students also have the ability to listen to articles in the new languages being read aloud by native speakers.

myON News delivers developmentally appropriate content, based on current events, in a year-round daily news feed. Every article is reviewed by a child psychologist and incorporates links to authentic multimedia resources and books within myON. The article library provides students with thousands of additional reading options and is a great tool for research.

New Portuguese option in myON

Students reading digital books in myON now have the ability to change the user interface to Portuguese. This gives students another language option for navigating the myON program, alongside Spanish, Mandarin, and multiple varieties of English:

At Renaissance, we want to help students become competent, confident, life-long readers. These latest enhancements reiterate myON’s commitment to providing reading experiences in a variety of languages. Schools can also expand their myON library of non-English texts by adding the myON World Languages collection, which currently has books translated into Spanish, Mandarin, Vietnamese, and Welsh.
