In an earlier product update, we announced that Spanish Focus Skills are now available in Star Assessments.

This school year, you’ll also have access to a new resource that provides support for planning instruction for these essential skills, for pre-K through grade 3. This new resource, which is available in both English and Spanish, shares ideas for cross-language development (English and Spanish). It also includes a section for Spanish-only skills.

How do educators use this new resource?

• Administer the Star Reading Spanish assessment.
• Use the Star Reading Instructional Planning Report to identify the skills your students are ready to work on next.
• Access this new resource to find ideas on how to support student instruction and practice.

This new resource also includes transferable skills and prerequisite skills to help confirm a student’s knowledge before introducing new concepts, or to provide additional support for students struggling with the skill.
